The best thing MacAngel has done for me is MacAngel Academy. The monthly cost more than pays for itself.  The lessons are always practical and they are exactly the right length. When I am forced to wait for an appointment or whatever, I sign on and watch one of the lessons on an area where I feel I need an update or feel like I am missing something. Daylight is such a rich system, but it takes time to learn how to make the best of it.  Marni’s Academy cuts to the chase. I have both a manual and a video.  Example: I had fallen down on matching my tasks and projects so that my DMI integration was not giving me the results I wanted.  Watched the lesson (20 min) and then spent an hour over lunch getting back on track.  The only problem I have is that I don’t always stick with Marni’s recommendations and then I have to go back and get on track.  Marni knows Daylight, Billings whaterever inside and out.  If I just follow the system Marni advocates I don’t miss a task, appointment or requirement. Marni is this solo practitioner’s best friend - she is my IT department.

MacAngel helped me totally reorganize Daylite so that I can use it to capture my brain.  I generate a lot of ideas and thoughts but I had no real system for organizing the content I generated.  Daylite allows me to do this now.

Marni: noticed from your recent FB posts that you are working with a large law firm on a Daylite implementation.  First, my condolences on having to work with lawyers

.  Second, I thought I’d pass on a comment regarding my use of daylite in the context of a law firm.  I now regularly take a moment at the time of billing to review all my daylite entries.  There are many times that I have caught activity on the file that I forgot to post to my accounting system (which I use for time posting).  Since so much of a lawyer’s work on a file is responding to emails and given the DMI feature, I now have the ability to scrutinize my bill to the client for accuracy (its easy to forget to post for the time involved in email exchange when you have many files on the go).  That has allowed me to be more successful in recovering time.  If I was a better docketer of time I guess that would not be a problem but I think most lawyers can attest to the problems associated with trying to capture all of one’s time during a busy day/week.  Daylite has more than paid for itself when it comes to recovered time.  Perhaps your new law firm client might find this useful.

Training videos. Daylite is remarkably powerful and versatile. The power and versatility [blank canvas] may mask its utility. It certainly makes learning how to operate (use) more difficult. There is no cookbook. The novice ‘chef’ may be overwhelmed—preparing a 4 star meal is hampered when I can’t figure how to turn on (or regulate the temperature of) the stove.

Daylite can seem pretty overwhelming to set up and use. What MacAngel did was provide me with very informative video tutorials at a low cost. They are so good that I’ve come back for more. Marni is very good at explaining concepts and how to implement those things in Daylite. She has worked with people in many types of businesses and I’m sure she could help anyone who needed to set up Daylite no matter what business they are in.

I highly recommend her even or especially if you have not made the decision to purchase Daylite. There is a video on just the basics that I think really gets into how to use it that is more informative than what you will find on Marketcircle’s own site.

I can’t say enough how much she has helped me. I’m looking forward to working with her for all of my Daylite needs.

MacAngel helped me online with implementation and set up of Daylight Touch and Billings. The videos are a constant resource for me. If you consider how much your time is worth in terms of billings you will improve your productivity at a reasonable cost by using MacAngel’s videos and 1 on 1 Training. End result more control over your practice and your life through Mac Angel and Daylight

Yesterday, I finished my second online session using go to meeting to update my Daylight to Snow Leopard and to install Billings and get some training. Earlier MacAngel helped me set up Daylight Touch. Early next year I will schedule a session for MacAngel to help me clean up my database to make it easier to use.

I now wish I had scheduled an online session when I was getting started with Daylight. Even so, the videos are very helpful. I recommend viewing the videos and then scheduling as session - then Marni will be able to help you with specific questions.

As with many computer programs the strength of Daylite lies with its vast capabilities to manage large amounts of date. This can also be a weakness for someone who is new to the software. Simply put - where do you start. Marni answers this question.

Without MacAngel and the training videos I would still be struggling with how to integrate Daylite into my practice and how to create a set of best practices for its use. The training videos provide “live” examples of best practices for getting the most out of Daylite. The videos “Daylite 3.8 for the Law Office” and “MacAngel Method, GTD” changed the way I manage my practice. With what I’ve learned from the videos I’ve been able to make a quantum leap in controlling my work and personal life.

I can’t wait for Daylite Touch and Marni’s insights and video on how to integrate it with Daylite.”

Once you go Mac, you’ll never go back. In December, I took the plunge and switched to a totally Mac office. When I researched Daylite, I read that customers gradually became aware of its amazing uses and customization. Why not have it running at full strength from day one by hiring an expert. When I compare what Marni delivers for the services she provides, her company is an amazing value I am glad I did and the transition on the law side was much easier than I could have imagined, thanks to an angel. I am talking about The MacAngel, Marni Melrose, a certified Daylite software consultant and David Allen “Getting Things Done” disciple.
